Scale Inhibitor
Scale Inhibitor
A specialty scale-control chemical used to prevent or reduce deposition of inorganic mineral scales in oilfield water systems. At appropriate treatment levels, scale inhibitors interfere with crystal growth and deposition, helping maintain flow paths, heat-transfer surfaces and equipment efficiency in systems where incompatible waters or changing pressure and temperature can promote scale formation.
Used in: Water-injection systems; production tubing and flowlines; separators and surface equipment; produced-water handling; squeeze or continuous-treatment programs where applicable.
Why it is used: To minimize scale deposition that can restrict flow, damage equipment and reduce production or injection efficiency.
Key functions / benefits
- Helps prevent mineral-scale deposition
- Supports flow assurance and equipment reliability
- Can reduce cleaning frequency and scale-related downtime
Typical form: Liquid
Suggested packing*: 50 kg / 200 kg HDPE drums; IBC/bulk on request
