Triethylene Glycol (TEG)
Triethylene Glycol (TEG)
Triethylene Glycol is a hygroscopic glycol widely used for dehydration of natural gas and other gas streams. In a glycol dehydration unit, TEG absorbs water vapour from the gas, helping the treated gas meet moisture specifications and reducing the risk of hydrate formation and water-related operating problems.
Used in: Natural-gas dehydration units; gas-processing and conditioning systems.
Why it is used: To remove water vapour from gas streams and support dry-gas specifications, pipeline reliability and downstream processing.
Key functions / benefits
- High affinity for water
- Commonly used in gas dehydration
- Supports moisture and hydrate control
Typical form: Clear liquid
