PHPA Powder
PHPA Powder
A partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide polymer used as a cuttings encapsulator, shale stabilizer and friction-reducing additive in water-based drilling fluids. The polymer coats drilled solids and reactive shale surfaces, helping control dispersion while improving hole cleaning and wellbore condition.
Used in: Freshwater muds; calcium/sodium brines; KCl mud systems.
Why it is used: To encapsulate cuttings, reduce shale dispersion, improve wellbore stability and provide friction-reduction benefits.
Key functions / benefits
- Cuttings encapsulation
- Shale and wellbore stabilization
- Viscosity and friction-management support
Typical form: Free-flowing powder
Suggested packing*: 25 kg moisture-resistant bags; palletized supply on request
